Coorong Crusaders band together for a wetland in ‘dire straits’

The Coorong, at the mouth of the River Murray in South Australia, was once teaming with bird life.

But a group of concerned environmentalists, locals, politicians and fishers says it's now in 'dire straits' and needs urgent attention.

The 'Coorong Crusaders' are meeting today over the future of the internationally recognised waterway, with many backing federal Labor's call for changes to the Murray-Darling Basin Plan.
